The Prairie Crocus is abundantly found in Southern Alberta and it’s Latin name is Anemone patens. The genus name Anemone comes from the Greek word for “wind.” Anemone plants are known as windflowers because it was believed that they blossomed only when the wind blew in springtime.
Our Windflower - Belgian Blond has a pleasantly subtle citrusy-spicy yeast complexity, smooth, malty palate, and dry, soft finish. The malt backbone is moderately grainy-sweet. Faint, honey-like sweetness on the palate. Medium bitterness, with the malt slightly more prominent in the balance. Light alcohol warming. Moderate yeast profile with orange and lemon esters and slight spicy-peppery-clove phenols.
