El Occidental Mezcal Oaxaca is a brand of artisanal mezcal that is produced in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Oaxaca is known as the capital of mezcal, as it has the most diversity of agave plants and the most traditional of mezcal making. El Occidental Mezcal Oaxaca uses only organic agave and traditional methods of production, such as roasting the agave in earthen pits, crushing it with a stone wheel, fermenting it in wooden vats, and distilling it in copper stills.
