Natural Red Wine
Since at least 1316 CE – and very likely for hundreds of years prior – grapes have been grown and wine has been made here on the hillsides of La Torre alle Tolfe.
Genetically related to Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo shares many characteristics with its more famous relative, such as a greater sensitivity to terroir. In our sandy soils, the two varieties show even more similarities, with the difference that Ciliegiolo is slightly less austere and fruitier than Sangiovese.
Bright, luminous red. Rich in red cherry aromas and flavors, as the name suggests, it's a delicious, easy-drinking wine, and a delight to compare with Sangiovese from the same region. It's an extremely graceful wine, with elegant tannins and subtle acidity.
